This package combines three nights at the stylish Hotel Promessi Sposi in Malgrate with two varied rounds of golf at Golf Club Bergamo L’Albenza and Golf Club Lecco – a combination that is perfect for a long golf break in Lombardy.

Hotel Promessi Sposi is located directly on Lake Como, opposite Lecco, and for me it is exactly the kind of hotel that works perfectly for a short golf trip. After a round of golf, I don’t necessarily want to stay somewhere isolated in a traditional golf resort; I also want to experience the destination. Here, the lake, mountains and Italian lifestyle are right on your doorstep. The stylish 4-star superior boutique hotel combines contemporary design with the historic architecture of the building and provides the ideal base for discovering this beautiful part of northern Italy. Lecco can easily be reached on foot along the lakeside.

The package includes 3 nights with breakfast – enough time for two rounds of golf while still leaving some time to enjoy Lake Como.

From a golfer’s perspective, things get particularly interesting at Golf Club Bergamo L’Albenza. This is one of those courses that should be on the list when planning a golf trip through northern Italy. The club offers 27 holes divided into three 9-hole courses – Blue, Yellow and Red. Mature trees, natural elevation changes, streams and strategically positioned hazards mean that this is not simply a course where you pull out the driver on every tee. L’Albenza demands good course management and rewards intelligent golf.

The landscape is one of the highlights of the round. Fairways wind their way through mature, gently undulating parkland surrounded by impressive vegetation. The second round takes you to Golf Club Lecco in Annone di Brianza, where a completely different golfing experience awaits. The 18-hole course lies at the foot of the Resegone and Grigne mountains in the green Brianza region, creating an impressive mountain backdrop. The course is enjoyable to play but still demands concentration thanks to water hazards, bunkers and strategically designed holes.

This variety is exactly what I appreciate on a short golf holiday in Italy: two golf courses, two different characters and no repetition.

The location of Hotel Promessi Sposi makes the package even more attractive. Golf can easily be combined with the Lake Como lifestyle. After your round, take a walk through Lecco, enjoy an aperitivo by the water or simply sit back and admire the views across the lake and surrounding mountains. For me, this is what turns a simple golf trip into a memorable golf holiday in Italy.
